Maintaining and registering software as a medical device is expensive. The Asthma Optimiser is registered as Medical Device class IIa. This guarantees that the algorithm and software work reliably.

In addition, there are the costs of the annual update of the Asthma Optimiser to the latest version of the (inter)national guidelines.

To keep the Asthma Optimiser available, the costs for using it are 150 euros per year (excluding VAT) per user (practice AGB code).

In addition, there are one-time costs for linking the Asthma Optimiser to the practice via e-novation. This ensures that the results of the Asthma Optimiser can be written to the HIS by means of an edifact message. These costs amount to 35 euros, one-time, per edifact post box/care mail account.
